Make Your Own Natural Cleaning Products!

You can easily make your own cleaning products using natural ingredients that are safe and effective. Here are some of our favourite green cleaning solutions that we use often to clean our home and keep it fresh:

Vinegar:

This is a great natural cleaning agent that can be used for various purposes. It is acidic and has antimicrobial properties, making it perfect for cleaning surfaces like countertops, floors, and bathrooms. To make a simple all-purpose cleaner, just mix one part water and one part vinegar in a spray bottle. You can also add a few drops of essential oil like lemon or lavender to give it a pleasant scent.

Baking Soda:

Another versatile ingredient that can be used for cleaning is baking soda. It is alkaline and has a gentle abrasive quality, making it great for scrubbing sinks, ovens, and other surfaces. To make a paste, just mix baking soda with water and apply it to the surface you want to clean. Let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub with a brush or sponge and rinse with water.

Lemon Juice:

Lemon juice is an excellent natural cleaning agent that can be used to remove stains and disinfect surfaces. It contains citric acid, which has antibacterial properties and can help to remove dirt and grime. To make a natural disinfectant, mix lemon juice and water in a spray bottle and use it to clean surfaces like cutting boards, kitchen counters, and bathroom fixtures.

Castile Soap:

Castile soap is a natural and gentle soap that can be used for cleaning dishes, laundry, and surfaces. It is made from vegetable oils and is biodegradable, making it an excellent eco-friendly alternative to conventional cleaning products. You can make an all-purpose cleaner by mixing a few tablespoons of Castile soap with water and essential oils.

Essential Oils:

Essential oils are not only great for adding a pleasant scent to your cleaning products, but they also have antibacterial and antifungal properties. Some popular essential oils for cleaning include lavender, tea tree, lemon, and eucalyptus. You can add a few drops of essential oil to your cleaning solutions to make them more effective and pleasant smelling.
