My Journey with Reiki: Exploring the Healing Energy Within

However, amidst the chaos, I stumbled upon a profound practice that changed my life for the better - Reiki. At first, I was skeptical, unsure of how gentle touch and energy healing could transform my well-being. Little did I know that this ancient Japanese art would open doors to self-discovery, relaxation, and a deeper connection with the universal life force energy.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word "Reiki" is derived from the Japanese words "rei" (meaning "God's wisdom" or "the higher power") and "ki" (meaning "life force energy"). Essentially, Reiki practitioners believe that we all possess an unseen life force energy that flows through our bodies. For me, Reiki became a sanctuary, where I could release pent-up emotions, find tranquility, and recharge my mind, body, and spirit.

What Happens in a Reiki Session?

Stepping into my first Reiki session was a mix of excitement and uncertainty. The ambiance was serene, with crystal sound healing playing in the background. I settled onto the treatment table, fully clothed, as my practitioner, Karine Lespinasse, began to explain the process. She assured me that Reiki was a gentle and non-invasive practice, and I could share any concerns I had.

Karine placed her hands lightly on or just above various areas of my body, including the head, shoulders, stomach, and feet. The sensation was comforting, and I felt a warm and calming energy flow through me. With each hand position held for several minutes, I soon drifted into a state of deep relaxation.

During the session, Karine spoke softly, guiding me to let go of stress and tension. Surprisingly, I felt tears welling up, as if releasing emotional baggage that had burdened me for years.
