A Tribute to My Children

"Motherhood is a choice you make every day, to put someone else's happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you're not sure what the right thing is... and to forgive yourself over and over again for doing everything wrong." - Donna Ball

As I reflect upon the immeasurable love and joy that my kids has brought into my life. With a heart brimming with gratitude and affection, I pen this verse as an expression of my adoration for the precious souls who has illuminated my existence with their presence. Your arrivals into my world has been nothing short of a miracle, my dear children, and I am forever grateful for the love and light that you have brought into my life.

Hand-drawn with Ink on Paper. A Mother's Love. By Oanh with Art

As a mother of two, my heart overflows with bliss,

Though my body may tire, my love can never be dismissed.

Days may feel extended, and nights too fleeting,

But my children's grins keep my heart beating.

I wake up early to make them breakfast

Pack their lunches, kiss them goodnight with tenderness

I play their games, write them stories

Teach them manners, wipe away their worries

My affection for them exceeds all limits,

Yet, at times, I stumble, fatigued and cautious.

I crave a momentary pause,

To rejuvenate myself, to rediscover repose.

Drawn for a mother and son. Two drawings merged together. By Oanh with Art

But then they come running with open arms

Their laughter and hugs, they have such charms

I know then that every sacrifice is worth it

And my heart fills with love and gratitude, no limit

Being a mother of two is no walk in the park,

But their love and elation render every hurdle stark.

I wouldn't exchange it for anything in the world,

And as they grow up, my love will unfurl.

So, as you read this, please do not weep, Just smile, and know that I will always keep

Striving to be the best mother I can be,

For my children, who signify the world to me.
